Carmen Jones

Carmen Jones

With dynamic stage presence, poise and passion for writing and performing music, Carmen Jones has the high energy and the "powerhouse" uniquely soulful vocals to stir your soul.

Ms. Jones can move you with her own original R&B music, with lyrics touching on love, and the importance of people working together to reach societal goals.  When it comes to dance music, you will want to “bust some moves” to ‘Microdancing’, featuring Matt "Doctor" Fink of Prince and The Revolution. The tone and versatility of Jones’ voice, and her notable C3 to C6 range will take you back to the incredible times when music was truly soulful, funky and organic.

Ms. Jones, a Northern California native developed her keyboard playing, writing and singing talents while touring the California club scene with Sam Bostic & Circuitry. Over the years, she honed her recording and live performance as part of an Interscope Records quartet, Soul de Pop.  As a solo artist, Ms. Jones writes and produces many of her own songs; performing both the lead and background vocals.  Ms. Jones responded to motivation from her social media fanbase by recording and releasing her own uniquely sexy cover of the classic song, “Angel”, and she is currently in the studio recording original material for her next album release.

In addition to being recognized for her outstanding live performances, in 2016, Jones was also acknowledged for writing and producing a mini-film documentary, called “Tatia’s Story, From Life to Death in 10 Hours.  The childbirth related film was screened to a sold-out audience at the Oakland Museum, and continues to be screened at theaters and events throughout the United States, and worldwide via social media and YouTube.

Carmen Jones has graced the stages of the famous New Orleans House of Blues, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Disney World, Yoshi's, The Fenix, Oakland Oracle Arena and many more. Ms. Jones has worked professionally with Howard Hewett, Al B Sure, El Debarge, MC Hammer, Linda Ronstadt, Jeffrey Osborne, Jackson Browne, and local music natives PC Munoz, Derrick Hall, Master P and Dwayne Wiggins. Ms. Jones was featured singing an impromptu duet with Jamie Foxx, during the HBO Special “Jamie Foxx: I Might Need Security”.

Ms. Jones’ love for music and performing are continually expressed by her self-produced,  “Ultimate Tribute to Teena Marie”, with rich renditions of hit songs praised by Teena Marie’s closest friends and devoted fans.  In addition to writing and performing, Ms. Jones is also a Voice Coach and loves teaching singing lessons in the San Francisco Bay Area at Bay Area Voice Lessons.
